ABOUT THE JOB
As a Project Manager, you will be the focal point of the consulting cases conducted at UpSpark, leading the work on grant applications, managing internal project teams, and cooperating closely with both clients and their project partners as the main contact point.

You will be responsible for end-to-end management of the contracted projects, operating independently within the given timeframe and budget. Your tasks will include:

A) Project administration and management

  • project ownership – overall responsibility for the complete management of the project,
  • close cooperation with the internal project team and UpSpark management,
  • communication with clients and their project partners,
  • setting up proposal development pipeline,
  • project quality assurance,
  • project progress monitoring.

B) Grant proposals preparation

  • overseeing the process of developing grant applications and business strategies;
  • reviewing inputs delivered by other members of the project team,
  • organising teleconferences, project meetings, and workshops,
  • creating presentations and pitch decks, project plans and budgets, sales forecasts, financial projections,
  • performing market research, competition analysis, and state-of-the-art assessments,
  • timely delivery and submission of grant proposals.

HOW WILL YOU WORK

  1. Remotely: any location works for us as long as you are available for the scheduled calls with clients and team members during CET/GMT working hours
  2. Flexibly: no need to work full time or nine-to-five if you do not want to. You can adjust the working slots and style to your individual needs and preferences

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
A) the must-have requirements

  • Experience in managing EU projects,
  • Experience in managing small project teams, including cross-cultural teams with diverse domain specialists,
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
  • Excellent technical and business writing,
  • Track record of approved grant proposals (Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe, etc.),
  • Experience in business/ management consulting,
  • PhD/ MBA,
  • Strong analytical and strategic planning skills, creative approach to problem-solving,
  • Passion for technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship,
  • Curiosity, eagerness to learn,
  • Friendly attitude.

B) the nice-to-have requirements

  • Experience in consulting for ‘deep-tech’ companies,
  • Experience in product development in technological companies,
  • Expertise in finance, accounting, and ability to create financial projections and financial statements.

ABOUT THE JOB

As a Grant Writer, you will work under Project Manager(s), cooperating closely with companies from the leading innovation hubs in Europe to develop grant applications and conduct necessary market- and technology-related analyses.

Together with the Project Manager, you will be the contact point for the Client, participating in the consulting case, interacting with the Client, providing the necessary information, and delivering curated high-quality content.

You will be responsible either for small end-to-end projects or selected modules of larger projects, operating independently within the assigned scope of tasks. These assignments will include mainly:

  • participating in the process of developing grant applications and business strategies;
  • creating presentations and pitch decks, project plans and budgets, sales forecasts, financial projections;
  • performing market research, competition analysis, and technological state-of-the-art assessments.

ABOUT THE JOB

As a Domain Expert, you will work as an independent advisor to UpSpark, providing necessary expertise in the assessment of ideas and technologies proposed by our clients and the development of grant applications.

As such, you will be involved in two stages of consulting services:

  1. Pre-evaluation of the technology/ project concept – scrutiny of ideas submitted to UpSpark by the clients in terms of their innovativeness, scientific soundness, future applicability and market potential.
  2. Development of a grant application – participation in the process of developing science/technology-related sections of grant proposals, and feeding the Project Team with curated high-quality content in your field of expertise.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR

  • PhD in a scientific discipline related to biotech, computer technologies, physics, photonics, materials science, etc. 
  • Strong analytical and strategic planning skills, creative approach to problem-solving,

B) the nice-to-have requirements

  • Experience in business/ management consulting (especially in the EU funding domain)
  • Experience in developing innovative products/ solutions in technological companies, especially in ‘deep-tech’ sectors
  • Expertise in finance, accounting, and ability to develop financial projections and financial statements
